Projects 2025

Cache la Poudre Chapter

Cache la Poudre Chapter donated grant money to the 1883 Water Works Education Enhancement Project in Fort Collins along with a Colorado State Questers grant and the Poudre Landmarks Foundation. The $2,000 grant provided Friends of the Water Works opportunities to use educational tools to help visitors travel back in time to 1883-84. The historic education project included a permanent welcome sign to the Water Works property, a touchscreen with educational videos, self-guided tour guides, and permanent interpretive signs inside the historic building.

Grand Mesa Peaches Chapter

Grand Mesa Peaches Chapter combined their committed grant money with a Colorado State Questers grant to donate $1,000 to the Palisade Historical Society for archival boxes to house 1903 to 2014 archives of The Palisade Tribune newspapers. The newspapers were digitized and the originals were returned for permanent storage in the museum.

Arvilla Meeker Chapter

Over several years, Arvilla Meeker Chapter members raised donations for their Dearfield Historic interpretive signage project, which included both a Colorado State Questers grant of $3,000 and The Questers International grant of $2,000. More than $11,000 funded four permanent interpretive signs for sites at historic Dearfield, the first Black-owned agricultural community in Colorado, founded in 1910 and located east of Greeley. The donations for the historic education signs were presented to the Dearfield Preservation Committee and the Black American West Museum and Heritage Center.

Steamboat Springs Chapter

The Steamboat Springs Chapter partnered with the Steamboat Art Museum for a $1,000 grant, which included a permanent SAM sign and historic artwork with a plein air exhibit. Artists were invited to paint historic barns, log cabins, and buildings in Routt County as a way to preserve local history. An additional program included children's learning interpretations of artists' creative works with hands-on experiences.

Longs Peak Chapter

Longs Peak Chapter partnered with the City of Longmont for the Callahan House restoration of the original dining room table. The chapter's donation, along with the Colorado State Questers grant of $2,500, allowed for the $3,200 refinishing of the 1906 quarter-sewn oak table with hand-carved trim and seven leaves. The historic dining room furniture has been used extensively and all pieces will be refinished in the future as the Callahan House remains a very active venue for community events.
