Events
Tour and Tea at the Molly Brown House, August 2025
On August 12, 2025, Columbine Pioneers visited the Molly Brown House in Denver. Mrs. Brown was a prominent social reformer, activist, and philanthropist in Colorado, working for women’s suffrage, workers’ rights, children’s welfare, and improved conditions for miners. She also gained fame for her efforts to help survivors of the Titanic. At the end of our historic tour, we were served sandwiches, scones, sweets, and “Molly tea,” a refined floral blend like jasmine with a lighter, less sweet taste.

Buckeye School 100-Year Celebration, August 2025
On August 23, 2025, Questers were invited to join the Historic Buckeye School Community Club to celebrate their 100th Anniversary. They sold their treasures to raise funds for the state P&R and Education fund. There were baked potatoes with trimmings--baked on hot coals--in honor of the pioneer children who brought potatoes and put them on the heating stove for their lunch.

International Convention, Nashville, TN, May 2025
Nine Colorado Questers attended the International Questers Convention in May. A day was spent in meetings ending with the banquet and program, “The End of the Day for a Victorian Fashionista.” Several tours were enjoyed by the participants: Belmont Mansion, President Andrew Jackson's home The Hermitage, James K. Polk’s home, and the General Jackson Showboat with dinner and a show. Shopping at the Nashville Farmer’ Market and dining at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen were additional treats!

Historic Emma Malaby Grocery Store Visit, March 2025
Marie Lafitte Chapter toured the Emma Malaby Grocery Store in early March. Meg Dunn of Historic Larimer County gave the history of this wood-framed building constructed in late winter 1881. Emma’s father, Frank Collamer, was the fourth owner and gave Emma the store in 1921 which she ran until 1943. Maie Lafitte Chapter sponsored two teas--June Hatbox and Christmas--to help “Raise the Roof” as their P&R project.
